(CEO) Circular Exchange Ontology

This ontology describes the activities that enable the circulation of materials and products across companies and persons in order to realize the circular economy. A particular important aspect is modelling the possibilities of doing reverse logistics. Data is assumed to come from product passports.

(CAMO) Cicular Activities and Materials Ontology

This ontology details information about specific materials, products and activities categorized under circular economy classification i.e. biological and technological materials.

Competency Questions

This section details the generic competency questions that are aimed to be answered by the ontologies above. Some variations of these questions are shown in the Use Case Section with specific data instances.

  1. Which agents perform activities that have a specific tool/waste resource which is needed as input by other agents for their Post Use Activities at least X distance apart?
  2. Which nearby collection activity is close to consumers having products with specific qualities, and is also close to train stations in order to bring the collected product to an input activity that is XX distance from the train station?
  3. Which companies within a certain geo-boundary (town, city, province, country) create products composed of a specific quality (material)?
  4. Which companies undergo activities that generate waste that can qualify as input type as of a post-use activity undergone by a company with a specific company quality and are both located within a specific radius?
